Champagne D'Argent Rabbits

The Silver Heritage Breed

About the Breed

The Champagne D'Argent is one of the oldest rabbit breeds, known for its unique silvering coat and excellent meat quality.

The Champagne D'Argent rabbit is a French heritage breed prized for its meat and pelts. It was first recorded in France during the 1600s making it one of the oldest meat rabbit breeds. Not only do they have calm temperaments, good mothering instincts, and fast growth rates, they also change color. Champagne D'Argent kits are born completely black, gradually turning silver as they grow. Silver hairs begin to show around 4 weeks and are fully silver by 5 to 6 months.
