Everything you need to know about our farm and products

About Our Farm

Why did you choose Vermont for your farm?
We fell in love with Vermont's natural beauty, strong agricultural community, and commitment to sustainable farming. The climate and soil conditions here are perfect for our diverse farming operations.
Are you really called Texas Farms Vermont?
Yes! We're located in the historic district of Texas, in Concord Vermont. The area got its name from a young man who vowed to leave for Texas during the gold rush—but ended up staying. The name stuck.

Visiting the Farm

Can I visit the farm?
Yes! We welcome visitors by appointment. Contact us to schedule a visit and meet the animals.
Do you offer educational programs?
Yes, we offer various educational opportunities including farm tours and workshops. Contact us for more information about current offerings.

Our Products

Where can I buy your products?
Our products are available through our online Farm Shop, at select local farmers markets, and through our wholesale partners in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Are your products organic?
While we're not certified organic, we follow sustainable and natural farming practices. We avoid synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, focusing instead on regenerative agriculture techniques that build soil health.
Do you sell breeding stock?
Yes! We sell registered Gloucestershire Old Spot piglets and pedigreed Champagne D'Argent rabbits. Check our animals page for current availability.

Animals & Livestock

Why do you raise heritage breeds?
Heritage breeds offer superior meat quality, better adaptability to pasture-based systems, and important genetic diversity. By raising rare breeds like Gloucestershire Old Spots, we're helping preserve genetics that might otherwise be lost.
How do you raise your animals?
All our animals are pasture-raised with access to outdoors, fresh air, and room to express natural behaviors. We never use antibiotics or hormones, and we believe happy animals produce better food.

Sustainability

What sustainable practices do you use?
We're an off-grid farm powered by solar energy. We practice no-till farming, rotational grazing, and composting. Our goal is to work with nature, building soil health while producing exceptional food.
What does "regenerative farming" mean?
Regenerative agriculture focuses on rebuilding soil health, increasing biodiversity, and capturing carbon. Rather than depleting the land, we aim to leave it better than we found it for future generations.
