Our Philosophy
Our mission is to grow nutrient-rich and incredibly delicious produce while working with nature and being good stewards of the land.
Though we are not currently certified organic, we aim to meet and exceed USDA standards. We focus on soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and the quality of our produce.
Sustainable Growing Methods
We employ time-tested techniques combined with modern sustainable practices to produce the highest quality vegetables while caring for the land.
No-Till Farming
We practice no-till farming, meaning the soil is disturbed as little as possible. This allows us to:
- Limit soil erosion
- Capture carbon in the soil
- Use less amendments and fertilizers
- Limit the use of large farming equipment
- Foster the health of the microbiome in the soil
Seed Saving
Because we specialize in open-pollinated and heirloom varieties, we are able to practice seed saving. This process involves:
- Growing extra produce for seed harvesting
- Creating genetically diverse crops
- Adapting plants to local conditions
- Reducing reliance on big seed companies
- Developing unique strains for our farm
